Iris supports strengthening public schools throughout our County by ensuring fair wages for educators, expanding mental health resources, and increasing access to outdoor and experiential learning opportunities. As a parent and community advocate, she prioritizes policies that foster equity, enrich student experiences, and protect public education from political attacks, ensuring that all students can thrive in a supportive learning environment. In her role as Vice President of the Board for the Ithaca Children’s Garden, Iris supports inclusive, nature-based learning for all. As a proud graduate of Ithaca High School and parent in the Ithaca City School District, Iris understands the exceptional public education our children receive, and how essential it is that we support this vital community resource.
