Clean Energy for Tompkins

Iris supports expanding local renewable energy development and grid upgrades, improving energy efficiency in housing, and ensuring that climate policies prioritize equity and economic opportunity. Iris’ expertise on climate and labor issues will help the County develop policy solutions to address the dual crises of climate change and inequality. In her work on the City of Ithaca’s Sustainability and Climate Justice Commission, Iris advocated for the Justice50 initiative to ensure that the City’s green investments benefit climate justice communities. Through collaboration with local, state, and national leaders, Iris will work to accelerate Ithaca and Tompkins County’s transition to a green economy while protecting communities from the impacts of climate change.
